Dietitian-Nutritionist, Maryann Gallucci, shares a weight loss tip to kick-start your health journey
Your eating habit accounts for more than 80% of your weight loss and weight maintenance results. You can’t out-exercise a poor diet. Our bodies are always changing and as we age, our hormones, enzymes, muscle mass, and bone density are decreasing.
You may have already experienced joint and bone issues, skin and hair issues, digestion issues, and weight gain. We need to listen to our bodies and modify our food and nutrient intake to address these deficiencies and to ensure we are getting the carbs, fats, protein, vitamins, minerals, fiber, and fluids we need to age healthily.
It's never too late or too soon to modify your intake. Start wherever you are at. When you are ready to make a change, begin by changing one food at one meal at a time. This way you will not feel overwhelmed, and you are more likely to stick with it. This is about lifestyle and does not have to be an all-or-nothing modification.
Small changes in your food and beverage choices, portion sizes, and even cooking methods can result in major benefits to your overall health.
I will be providing weekly nutrition tips and recipes on the Ola Ka Ola platform to help you navigate your wellness journey. As always, I welcome questions.
