It probably comes as no surprise that just about everybody gives up on their New Year’s resolution. Studies show only 9% of people actually succeed with their goals. So let’s break it down to how YOU can be in that 9%.

Why do these resolutions FAIL?

They fail because we have such a big goal set with no specific plan. For example, you want to lose 20 lbs and you want to see muscle definition. Typically, one will start with a crazy diet and give up all the foods they love, go to the gym and work hard and aimlessly. So much effort is put in and so much restriction when it comes to food. All this and not seeing any results and not feeling better. Most likely feeling hungry, tired, and defeated. This is because there is no plan.

👉🏽 Do you know what you should be eating to fuel your workouts?

👉🏽 What do your workouts look like?

👉🏽 Are you following a plan specific to your age, gender, and goals? Or is it all random?

If you are a woman, around the age of 40 and beyond, you must be really busy, lacking in both time and energy, there is a specific plan for you! Training the female body is all about BUILDING UP! This is why our training will leave you feeling energetic and powerful, not run down and tired. It’s time to FUEL your life and ADD LIFE to your years.
Our member, Sarah, said it best: “Ola Ka Ola is a big part of me, it’s a form of therapy. I need to work out and feel positivity jump off that screen to keep going. This is how I stay sane. A lot of parents will say they do this for their kids. Ok sure, but my kid will grow up and have his own life, where does that leave me? I do this for me .” Says Sarah.
Life is so busy, how can you possibly manage to ADD something in?
👉🏽 How about no travel, no child care, just open your screen via phone, tablet, or computer and have LIVE training (or on-demand)? This saves you time and money, no prep, no driving, just DO.
👉🏽 How about training that is specifically designed for the female body? This means short, effective, and minimal equipment.

"I see the definition in my shoulders and my legs. No sagging for me! I have the strength that makes me self-sufficient. As I see it, Ola Ka Ola stands for WIN WIN! I win at health; I win at making friendships; I win at fun…every single day from the comfort of my own home!”, Lois (72), Ola Ka Ola member

As women, we need to focus on strength training, proper core and pelvic floor training and getting our heart rates up just enough. Training women virtually, we have mastered ALL of this!

Let’s break this down into steps and then hear it from the women who follow them:

Step 1- Decide that you ARE GOING TO DO THIS. You can have the plan, and you can have the support, but YOU still need to be the one to show up.
Step 2 - Have a plan. The steps it will take to get you to your goal. Make them micro, doable steps. Something you know you can achieve, little by little all adds up and gets you where you want to be. If you don’t know the steps, this is where you consult a professional. In our case, we have an entire team. We specifically train women, busy women, moms, and women over 40. We know the struggles, we live through them just as you are, so we know what works.
Step 3 - Have an accountability team. I say team because if you have an accountability partner, it’s easy to sway that one person. When you have a team you have that much more support and accountability. This is also US at Ola Ka Ola. Just last week, I was training my Beginner class and one of our members, Fina, came on and said “Where is your mom? I came on because I had to train with you and your mom”, Fina said.
My mom didn’t make it that day, so I let her know what Fina said and sure enough, she made it to the next training. So it’s not just the trainers keeping you accountable, it’s the other women as well. You very quickly become part of something bigger and are cheered on and cared for by everyone! This is what keeps you motivated and keeps you continuously showing up because, in the end, consistency wins.
Step 4 - Know there will be troubleshooting. So often, we get going and then something happens to throw us off track. You know what I mean, we have all been there. This is also us! We know! It’s our company's name - Ola Ka Ola ~ “Life goes on”. We know all too well as most of us are working women and busy moms, with life coming at us in all directions. This is something your support team will help you navigate what is best for your particular situation. Instead of throwing away all you have invested, keep that investment, take the detour, and you will get back to the plan when you are ready.

"Fina, our member, joined my class and wondered where my mom was. "I came on because I had to train with you and your mom”, Fina said. My mom didn’t make it that day, so I let her know what Fina said and sure enough, she made it to the next training." Cheryl Coppa, trainer.

Here are just a few of our members that followed their own plan at Ola Ka Ola, all busy women in different parts of the country succeeding on their own journey and in their own time:

Linda, (60) a long-time Ola Ka Ola member, shares: “When I reached menopause I struggled, I was starving myself without losing any weight so I knew I needed to make a change, and that’s where Ola Ka Ola came in. I’m about to be 60 years old. I recently had a doctor’s appointment and she was overwhelmed by my transformation. It’s been truly great looking in the mirror lately. I’m not shying away from looking at myself .” Says Linda.

Sarah (37) has been with Ola ka Ola since the beginning of the pandemic. Sarah was fit when she joined us. After making this shift to working out from home, she was able to significantly change the shape of her body. In addition to building herself up in ways she was not before, so also learned the importance of when to slow down and take time to do the slow work for longevity. See below the difference in her posture as she learned how to carry her pelvis in her one-on-one assessment with the Core and Pelvic Floor restore program.

During her one-on-one evaluation, Sarah, 37, showed a change in posture.

Emily, (65) joined us and she too was already fit. After making the transition, she learned she was capable of so much more than she thought. Her body has taken on a new shape, and new capabilities, and she is using heavier weights than ever before. “Days when my intrinsic motivation is lacking, I can rely on Ola ka Ola to provide extrinsic motivation and lift me back up again. I have learned so much about muscles and how to get the most out of each exercise and I continue to learn even though I am already a full year into the program .” Says Emily.

Lois (age 72 1/2). “I made the decision to work out from home in March 2020, which is almost 3 years ago. Since then, I work out every day of the week for at least 1/2 hour every day! I wake up in the morning and notice that my body has changed for the better, even at this stage of my life. I see the definition in my shoulders and my legs. No sagging for me! I have the strength that makes me self-sufficient. If there are grocery packages to lift out of the car and someone asks me, “Can I help you?” my immediate response is, “It’s okay! I’ve got this!” AND I HAVE DEFINITELY GOT THIS thanks to my workout routines which are varied and fun! I have staved off diseases like osteoporosis, and according to my doctor (who remarked that whatever I am doing is really valuable), my health numbers are great! As I see it, Ola Ka Ola stands for WIN WIN! I win at health; I win at making friendships; I win at fun…every single day from the comfort of my own home!”, says Lois.

Natasha. "After joining the program, I can honestly say my attitude, sleep, and confidence has improved tremendously.", says Natasha, a long-time Ola Ka Ola member. I find myself speaking about the program constantly because I really enjoy it and I want others to experience what I feel.” Natasha
