Ola Ka Ola has been such a great experience for me these past several years. The group has been supportive and motivating. We all look forward to meeting up. During COVID as we were all at home, having a community like this was helpful. As a working mom over 40, it has been a benefit to find others who found a place where we felt heard. As COVID’s restrictions decreased, I had to go back to the office.

Once that happened, I had to change my workout routine to try to balance it with work and life at home. I would do a lot of early morning live because it was great to have those live classes. However, I loved the option that we had the On Demand (recorded classes). I tried it and it was great!
The instructors did a great job motivating and supporting. However, I know sometimes that doesn’t work for everyone.

What’s special about On Demand at Ola Ka Ola is that the instructors are there as I kept myself accountable by emailing or texting them and they responded. The majority of classes that I take now are On Demand.

As a healthcare professional in the physical activity field, I try to practice what I preach. The importance of physical activity and exercise is part of my everyday life, although some days are tougher than others.

There is no right way to exercise only the way that works for you. Yes, a lot of people like the live classes but sometimes life doesn’t let you have that all the time as there are other priorities. The On Demand classes are 30 minutes each just as the live classes. Having the accessibility of On Demand classes with teachers you love and are used to gives you the fun that you had in the class plus the flexibility to do it at your convenience. The Ola Ka Ola community is accessible on social media and it has helped get the support even with On Demand. Finding the right way to exercise is the best way to get the results you want.

Consistency is important and eating the right foods as well. Ola Ka Ola might have changed a little for now, but the community has not.
