One in three women will experience a pelvic floor disorder of some sort during her life. It could be that childbirth has taken an immense toll on her body, it could be an age-related issue like menopause, or even extra stressors caused by modern life.
While some women think that experiencing symptoms of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction is normal and just something you need to live with, Michal Lissauer, the CEO and Co-Founder of Ola Ka Ola health platform, who suffered one of the symptoms called Urinary Incontinence herself, was determined to find a solution to eliminating the issue.
“I couldn’t sneeze without peeing,” says Michal Lissauer. “Let alone doing any physical activity like jumping or even enjoying long walks. Whenever I went outdoors, I had to make sure there was a bathroom nearby”, says Michal.
"Loss of bladder control, back pain, painful sex, pelvic girdle pain, prolapse, and doming of the abdomen when in a crunch position (Diastasis) are all dysfunction of the Pelvic Floor and Inner Core system. It’s just so common it has been written off as normal.” Says Cheryl coppa., Core and Pelvic Floor Specialist
According to Core and Pelvic Floor Specialist, Cheryl Coppa, loss of bladder control, back pain, painful sex, pelvic girdle pain, prolapse, and doming of the abdomen when in a crunch position (Diastasis), are not normal. “This is all dysfunction of the Pelvic Floor and Inner Core system. It’s just so common it has been written off as normal.” Says Cheryl coppa.
“At first I was so embarrassed to share my problem with anyone, even my husband”, admits Michal. “I started doing some reading about it and learned that my treatment options involve surgical interventions, physical therapy with vaginal cones, electrical or magnetic stimulation, and other similar solutions. I knew there must be a less invasive and less embarrassing way to treat this issue.

Michal teamed up with her team of experts, all women over 40, to find a natural solution to her problem.
Her Pelvic Floor disorder and her team’s experience inspired them to build Ola Ka Ola.
Michal and the team developed a health platform to help women connect with their pelvic floor, which brought in hundreds of women who were ready to improve their quality of life.
“Our members commit to a 3-month program where they meet online twice a week for a 30-minute session”, explains Michal. “After only 2 months in, they all start seeing results. According to Core and Pelvic Floor Specialist, Cheryl Coppa, who leads the program with great success, the women work on simple movements, and slowly progress, so that they can take these life alternating skills into their daily routine.
“To me, it’s a personal victory”, says Michal. Not only that I stopped leaking completely since I started the program, I feel that I’ve helped so many other women to deal with an embarrassing issue that they wouldn't deal with otherwise. Our members are so happy to do the program from the comfort of their own homes with other women who experience the same thing”.
